SEAFOOD - Mac's Frogmore Stew

Mac Robertson

Mac tells us that there are no frogs in frogmore stew. This is a South Carolina Low Country Dish. North Carolina People, and Mac is one, like it also!

3 tablespoons shrimp or crab boil, such as Old Bay Seasoning

3 tablespoons salt

1 1/2 gallons water

2 lbs. of smoked link sausage, cut into 2" pieces. ( you can use kielbasa and add some crushed red peppers.)

12 ears of fresh shucked corn cut into 3-4" pieces

4 lbs. fresh shrimp

In a large stock pot, add the shrimp or crab boil and salt to the water and bring to boil. Add sausage and boil uncovered, 5 minutes. Add corn and count 5 minutes. Add shrimp and count 3 minutes. Do not wait for

the liquid to come to a boil when timing the corn and shrimp. Drain immediately and serve. The best way is on a picnic table covered with clean newspapers. Drain off the liquid and dump the contents of pot on top of the table covered with news paper. Everyone dig in. Best you ever had.
