Oven-Fried Parmesan Chicken Fondue


Prep time: 1 hour

Bake for 30 minutes

Oven 375 degrees F

1 egg, lightly beaten

2 tablespoons of fat free milk

1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/3 cup dry bread crumbs, plain not seasoned.

1 teaspoon dried oregano

½ teaspoon of paprika

½ teaspoon black pepper

2 boneless chicken breasts, cut into bite size pieces

1 jar, Newman's Own Marinara Sauce

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Grease a large shallow baking pan and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, combine egg and milk.
  4. In a Tupperware container that has a top, combine Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, oregano, paprika and pepper. Shake.
  5. Cut chicken in bite size pieces.
  6. Dip chicken into egg mixture, coating well, and then place into the Tupperware container. Close lid and shake. Repeat with each piece of chickent.
  7. Place chicken pieces into baking pan, making sure the pieces do not touch.
  8. Coat tops of chicken with nonstick cooking spray.
  9. Bake for 30 minutes, or until chicken is done (170 degrees F for breast)
  10. Do not turn chicken pieces during baking
  11. Pour jar of Newman's Own marinara sauce into fondue pot and heat.
Put the chicken in a bowl to serve on the table, place the fondue pot on the table, sprinkle some Mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce, and invite the guests to eat the chicken like a fondue, dipping the chicken into the sauce rather than bread into cheese. Add a side dish of spaghetti if desired.
