Grandmommy's Whole Wheat Oatmeal Cookies

 Grandmommy's Whole Wheat Oatmeal Cookies

  • 1.      Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

    2.      Grease cookie sheets. Stir together the 1 cup whole wheat flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda; set aside.

    3.      In a medium bowl, cream together the 3/4 cup softened butter and 1 1/2 brown sugar (or 3/4 cup Brown Sugar Splenda) until light and fluffy.

    4.      Stir in the egg, 1/4 cup water and 1 teaspoon vanilla.

    5.      Mix in the flour mixture

    6.      Stir in the oats.

    7.      Drop by teaspoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.

    8.      Cookies should be about 2 inches apart.

    9.      Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven.

    10.  Remove from baking sheets to cool on wire racks.
