 RYAN'S MOM'S CHRISTMAS CINNAMON ROLL FRENCH TOAST

This was introduced to our family in the Pandemic's in 2020.  Ayesha served it while the family ate outside in a chilly Florida morning on Christmas Day.  She had gotten it from her secretary. It was a highlight of our traditional Christmas brunch.

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tubes cinnamon roll, refrigerated, with icing
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 6 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup maple syrup


DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Cut each cinnamon roll into 8 pieces.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon. Set it aside.
  4. Pour the butter on the bottom of a 9 X 13 inch baking dish. 
  5. Spread the cinnamon roll pieces evenly over the butter. 
  6. Pour the mixture over the cinnamon rolls. 
  7. Pour 1 cup of maple syrup over the mixture.
  8. Bake at 375°F for 25 min.
  9. Top with the icing from the cinnamon rolls.
