AUNT MARIA'S PECAN CRESCENTS

This recipe was given to Cathy Robertson years ago by her Aunt Maria Serrano.

  • 2 1/3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg yoke
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup finely chopped nuts

Sift flour with salt and set aside. In large bowl beat butter sugar, egg yoke and vanilla until light and fluffy.

Gradually stir in flour mixture and 1 cup of nuts mixing well.

Cathy pinches off small pieces of dough and molds with her hands into crescent shapes.

Cook on cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.

Let cool and roll in powdered sugar.
