Elephant Stew

This one is too good not to include in these recipes. It comes from Alice Glawe, member of Chapel by the Sea.

1 medium size elephant
2 rabbits (optional)
Pepper to taste
Salt to taste
Lots of brown gravy

Cut elephant into bite-size portions. This will take about 2 months. Add enough brown gravy to cover. Cook over kerosene fire for about 4 weeks at 465 degrees F. This will serve 3,800 people. If more are expected, the 2 rabbits may be added, but do this only if necessary, as most people do not like to find hare in their stew.
